Research on neuroinflammation
The purpose of the Foundation is to promote scientific research in the field of medicine and biology, focusing in particular on the natural mechanisms responsible for modulating neuroinflammation, at both central and peripheral level, by:
- providing support, including financial aid, for innovative training and research projects;
- awarding scholarships to young researchers;
- assigning acknowledgements and awards to deserving scholars.
Scientific publication
In order to achieve its mission, the Foundation is also committed to scientific dissemination activities, i.e. promoting and spreading scientific culture and knowledge, to make the notions and results of the research in this ground-breaking biomedical sector – neuroinflammation – the heritage of society as a whole, as well as establishing awards and scholarships and carrying out direct research activities.
The insights gained from the research promoted by the Foundation will provide a better understanding on the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases (from mild neurocognitive impairments through to full-blown dementia) and neuropathic pain, veritable epidemics of our time.
